Help Us Spread the Word!
Each participant in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study is committed to making a difference in the future health of all dogs. Owners spend time answering questions that enable us at Morris Animal Foundation to collect valuable nutrition, lifestyle, genetic and behavior information. Study dogs perform the dutiful task of sitting still (or at least still enough) during sample collection that includes blood, hair and toenail trimmings. Veterinarians and their clinic staff across the country perform study examinations and enter the medical information into the study database.
Our participants are truly committed to the health of their dogs and that commitment is helping us make the largest veterinary study ever conducted a reality. In fact, when asked why Golden Retrievers were chosen as our study population, Erin Searfoss, the study’s project manager, often jokes, “Have you met their owners?!”
Recently we launched new efforts to recruit the remaining one-third of dogs needed to fully enroll the study, and to retain current participants. To do this, we’re enlisting another key component: volunteers. The tireless efforts and dedication of our Golden Volunteers have helped us spread the word about this amazing opportunity to join heroes across the contiguous United States.
Do you know a breeder who would like to share study information with puppy buyers or a veterinarian who would like to share information with their clients? Join our force of Golden Volunteers and help us spread the word about this important study for canine health by ordering marketing materials on the study website. Together we can grow #3000Strong together!
